            Summary: Thai Reader does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app has no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. Everything you do stays on your device (and optionally in your own private iCloud). The app works fully offline.
        

1. Introduction

Thai Reader ("the App") is an app for learning to read the Thai script — its alphabet, tones, and vocabulary — developed by TMD ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:

No names, email addresses, or contact information
No account or sign-up — the App requires no login
No location data
No device identifiers or advertising IDs
No usage analytics or tracking
No cookies or similar technologies
No microphone, camera, or photo access
No crash reports sent to us

3. Data That Stays On Your Device

The App stores the following information locally:

Your chosen interface language (one of 22)
Your learning progress — which level exams (quiz and Word Builder) you have passed
Your settings — daily-reminder preference and time, iCloud-sync preference
Whether you have completed the first-run introduction
Your purchase entitlement (whether you own the full unlock)

This data never leaves your device except to be synchronized to your own private iCloud, as described below.

4. iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled, the App synchronizes your learning progress across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit:

The data is stored in your own private iCloud container, managed by Apple
We have no access to any iCloud data
iCloud sync can be disabled at any time from the App's Settings screen
The learning content itself (Thai letters, words, audio, illustrations) ships with the App and is never synchronized — only your own progress is

5. In-App Purchases

Thai Reader offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase ("Unlock everything") that unlocks the Tones and Words sections, quizzes, and games beyond the free Alphabet. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store:

We do not see or store any payment information
Apple manages transaction receipts; we only read whether the purchase is active via Apple's StoreKit 2 API
The purchase is Family Sharing eligible, as configured in App Store Connect
A Restore Purchases button in Settings lets you re-verify your purchase on any device

6. Notifications

If you opt in, the App can schedule an optional daily reminder to keep your reading practice going. These are local notifications scheduled on your device by iOS — no data is sent to us or anyone else, and you can turn them off at any time in the App's Settings or in iOS Settings.

7. Audio Narration

Every letter and word is accompanied by a pre-recorded audio clip that ships inside the app bundle. Playing these clips happens entirely on your device; the App does not stream audio from any server and never uploads any audio. The App works fully offline.

8. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only third-party services used are Apple's own:

Apple StoreKit — for processing the in-app purchase
Apple CloudKit / iCloud — for optional synchronization of your own learning progress

9. Children's Privacy

The App contains no advertising, no external links, no social features, no chat, and no data collection. It is safe for users of any age who are learning to read Thai. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

10. Data Retention

Since we do not collect any data, there is nothing for us to retain. Local data (preferences, progress) stays on your device — and optionally in your own iCloud — until you delete it from within the App or remove the App entirely.

11. Your Rights

Because we do not collect any personal data, most data-subject rights (access, portability, erasure) are fully within your control: uninstalling the App and signing out of iCloud removes every trace of your use of the App.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
