NameDay

Baby-name finder & baby-prediction game

Privacy Policy · Last updated: 12 July 2026

Overview

NameDay helps expecting parents find the perfect name together and invites family and friends to guess the big day — all while keeping your family's moments private.

NameDay is designed to be private by default. The app has no accounts to create, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind. The names you browse and shortlist stay on your device. The prediction game is shared only through your own iCloud, with the people you personally invite — never through any server of ours.

Information We Collect

None, directly. We (the developer) do not operate a server, do not have user accounts, and do not collect, receive, sell, or share your personal information.

Everything you do in NameDay lives in one of two places:

In both cases, this content is yours. It is not transmitted to us.

How the Prediction Game Uses iCloud / CloudKit

The baby-prediction game can be played entirely on one device (passing the phone around), or shared with family and friends. When you choose to share a challenge, NameDay uses Apple's iCloud / CloudKit — specifically Apple's private sharing feature (CKShare) — to sync the challenge between participants.

What this means in practice:

Only share a challenge with people you trust, since anyone you invite can see the shared challenge and the participants' guesses.

Purchases

NameDay offers an optional one-time in-app purchase (no subscription) that unlocks premium features such as an unlimited shortlist, filtering names by culture, and hosting shared prediction challenges. Joining a challenge as a guest is always free.

All purchases are processed directly by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see, receive, or store your payment details, card number, or Apple ID. Apple handles the transaction, receipts, and restores under Apple's own Privacy Policy.

Data Storage & Deletion

Your local content — browsed names, shortlist, parent labels, and locally-created challenges — is stored on your device (SwiftData). If your device backs up to iCloud, that on-device data may be included in your own private device backup, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Shared prediction challenges live in the participants' iCloud accounts (CloudKit), as described above.

You are in control of your data:

Third Parties

None. NameDay contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics services, and no third-party tracking libraries. The only external service involved is Apple itself — for in-app purchases (StoreKit) and for iCloud / CloudKit sharing of prediction challenges.

Children's Privacy

NameDay is intended for expecting parents and adults. It does not collect personal information, contains no ads and no third-party content, and does not knowingly gather any data from children under 13.
