1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using EnglishVocab ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of the App

EnglishVocab is an English-language vocabulary learning app. Its main features are:

• A curated dictionary of 5,192 English words across four difficulty tiers: Beginner, Survival, Conversational and Fluent
• Translations into 16 languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Hebrew, Indonesian, Malay, Arabic and Thai
• Native-sounding audio narration for every word, with selectable 1× or 0.5× playback speed
• Flashcard study mode with swipeable cards and IPA phonetic transcription
• Listening-based multiple-choice quiz with streak tracking
• Progress tracking including per-word streaks and a quizzes-completed counter
• Deck filters by tier and by topic category (60 topical categories)
• Searchable browse view over the full dictionary
• Optional iCloud synchronization of preferences and progress

3. Pricing

EnglishVocab is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and no advertising. The full 5,192-word dictionary, every translation, every audio clip and every feature is available to every user from first launch.

4. Educational Content

EnglishVocab is a learning aid, not a substitute for a qualified language teacher. Translations, IPA phonetic transcriptions and audio pronunciations are curated to be as accurate as possible, but may contain errors, stylistic choices or regional variations. We make no guarantee that using the App will result in any particular level of English proficiency. If you spot a mistake, please let us know and we will fix it.

5. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including the word list, translations, audio clips, text and software code — is the property of TMD and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, redistribute or resell any content from the App
• Use the App's content for commercial purposes
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

6. User Conduct

The App is designed for personal, non-commercial use as a vocabulary learning tool. You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, nor that the translations and audio clips are perfectly accurate.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TMD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the App.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles.
