1. Introduction

EnglishVocab ("the App") is an English-language vocabulary learning app, developed by TMD ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:

• No names, email addresses, or contact information
• No location data
• No device identifiers or advertising IDs
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No cookies or similar technologies
• No microphone, camera, or photo access
• No crash reports sent to us
• No payment information — the App is free and has no in-app purchases

3. Data That Stays On Your Device

The App stores the following information locally:

• Your chosen translation language (one of 16 supported languages)
• Your quiz streak per word (how many correct answers in a row)
• The number of quiz rounds you have completed
• Your deck filter (which tiers and categories you want to practice)
• Your playback speed preference (1× or 0.5×)
• Your "show translation first" and "hide the word in quiz" toggles

This data never leaves your device except to be synchronized to your own private iCloud, as described below.

4. iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled, the App synchronizes your preferences and progress across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit:

• The data is stored in your own private iCloud container, managed by Apple
• We have no access to any iCloud data
• iCloud sync can be disabled at any time from the App's Settings screen
• The dictionary itself (the 5,192 English words, translations and audio clips) ships with the App and is never synchronized — only your per-user progress is

5. Audio Narration

Every word is accompanied by a pre-recorded audio clip that ships inside the app bundle. The clips were generated offline at build time using Piper TTS, an open-source neural text-to-speech engine. Playback happens entirely on your device; the App does not stream audio from any server and never uploads any audio. There is no microphone recording of any kind.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only third-party service used is Apple's own:

• Apple CloudKit / iCloud — for optional synchronization of your own preferences and progress

7. Children's Privacy

The App contains no advertising, no external links, no social features, no chat, and no data collection. It is safe for users of any age who are studying English. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Data Retention

Since we do not collect any data, there is nothing for us to retain. Local data (preferences, streaks, quiz counter) stays on your device — and optionally in your own iCloud — until you delete it from within the App or remove the App entirely.

9. Your Rights

Because we do not collect any personal data, most data-subject rights (access, portability, erasure) are fully within your control: uninstalling the App and signing out of iCloud removes every trace of your use of the App. You can also reset your streaks and quiz counter at any time from Settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
