Automatic video editing, cut to the beat of the music
Cutwave turns your photos and videos into an edit that lands on every beat of the music. Your memories are the raw material of the edit — so they never leave your iPhone.
Cutwave has no accounts to create, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind. We (the developer) operate no server. Your photos, your videos, your music and your finished edits stay on your device.
None. We do not collect, receive, sell or share your personal information. There is no sign-up, no profile, and nothing is uploaded to us — because there is no “us” to upload to.
Everything the app works with lives on your device:
The parts of Cutwave that look like they need a cloud do not:
Cutwave works with no network connection at all, apart from the one optional feature below.
Cutwave can print the name of a place on your shots (“Krabi · July 2026”), taken from the location your camera already recorded in the photo. This is the only feature that uses the network, and it is switched off by default.
If you turn it on, the app sends the photo's coordinates — not the photo, not the image, not your identity — to Apple's geocoding service to get the name of the place back. That request is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Results are cached on your device so the same place is not looked up twice. Turn the switch off and no request is ever made.
When you save a finished edit, Cutwave asks for permission to add it to your photo library — the “add” permission only, which does not let the app read your library.
If you then share the video to another app or a social network, you are handing it to that app through Apple's system share sheet. What happens to it next is governed by the privacy policy of whichever service you chose, not by this one.
Cutwave offers one optional one-time purchase — no subscription — that removes the watermark and the end card, raises the media limit, and unlocks 1080p and 4K export.
The purchase is processed directly by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see, receive or store your payment details, card number or Apple ID. Apple handles the transaction, the receipt and any restore, under Apple's own Privacy Policy.
Your projects and the media copied into them are stored on your device. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud, that on-device data may be included in your own private device backup, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
You are in control:
None. Cutwave contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics services and no third-party tracking libraries. The only external party involved is Apple — for the in-app purchase (StoreKit) and, if you switch it on, for looking up place names.
Cutwave does not collect personal information, contains no advertising and no third-party content, and does not knowingly gather any data from children under 13.
